An analysis of Eli and Lauren Levy's personal and business banking records revealed that the 43-year-old Manalapan residents intentionally omitted taxable income from their jointly filed tax returns from 2018 through 2022, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said.
They did so despite their companies, Supreme Cleaning Services, LLC and Nation Wide Shippers, LLC, collecting a total of approximately $4.48 million in revenue over that period, the prosecutor said.
The amount of taxes evaded, not including penalties and interest, topped $768,000. The investigation also revealed that the couple had fraudulently collected more than $83,000 in medical services through New Jersey Family Care from 2015 into 2019, Santiago said.
The Levys were charged with conspiracy, Medicaid fraud, tax fraud, failure to pay taxes, filing a fraudulent return, and making false statements on an application for medical benefits, Santiago said.
